What motivates us to have an ongoing project in Ukraine? Why do we travel thousands of kilometers? (In the previous three trips it was over 10,000). Sure, the need is great. We asked ourselves why, we of all people. But we believe that God has called us to help this country, with our abilities and gifts. Andreas has been traveling around Nigeria for 10 years, it was actually high-risk and many situations in Ukraine, remind him of it. Sabine was able to experience that, among other things, through her training as a trauma therapist and her many experiences with traumatized people in the last 20 years, she was able to help people through her lectures, seminars and exercises, but especially in personal encounters, to stabilize people in these uncertain times and to come to inner peace.

The exercises she offers can be applied by people in any situation and have a positive influence on the psyche. A holistic approach that includes body, soul and spirit and is deeply biblical and can help people. Since the beginning of the war, we have been visiting Ukraine regularly and working with different people, organizations and aid projects. In connection with humanitarian aid, KAVOD offers training, crisis assistance, and psychological support for people, bringing stability to their lives. KAVOD visits crisis areas, such as bombed and formerly occupied villages, and provides direct assistance on the ground. The response to this is consistently positive, as psychological help is urgently needed and unfortunately rarely offered. Many Ukrainians are traumatized and very open and grateful for the mental and physical exercises that help them reduce their panic and stress levels.

We pay special attention to the danger of human trafficking. KAVOD distributes flyers on this issue in the Ukrainian language in border areas and refugee camps. We are going to the Kharkiv region in October, because the people there need encouragement and help to deal with their traumas.
UN experts warn that Ukrainian refugees – nine out of ten are women or children – could become victims of sexual exploitation and human trafficking. The UN focuses primarily on prevention. https://orf.at/stories/3253727/ https://orf.at/stories/3253727/
Through our work in prevention in the form of psychological assistance, we help people regain control over their lives.
We usually buy humanitarian goods locally, as it is much cheaper in Ukraine and everything is available in eastern Ukraine and Kiev.
We are grateful for any support! Please send them in Austria with the note “Ukraine” in Germany without note.

Sponsors are urgently needed for this work.
